Facebook Tip: Linking Facebook and Twitter
How to Link your Facebook Wall posts with your Twitter Messages
There are a million places online where you could post information about your business or service, but who has the time? I have found a great way to SAVE SOME TIME when posting information to your fans.
Long term, you should have your "Update Engine" START with you posting something website. That informaiton should be automaticly pulled into your Facebook Fan page, and that information should be pushed automaticly to your Twitter account. That way you update ONE place and THREE of "areas" of your Update Engine are updated at ONCE. This save your a TON of time. The steps below are just how to link your FACEBOOK FAN PAGE to your TWITTER account. We assume that you have both accounts aready set up. (if not, send us a mail and we can help you)
1. Log into your Facebook account. (This can be done one of two ways. Either you have a Facebook Profile <HUMAN ACCOUNT> that is linked to your fan page <BUSINESS ACCOUNT> or you just have a Facebook Fan Page <Business Account>. **Right now, you need to have a Facebook Profile <HUMAN ACCOUNT> to do perform the linking of Facebook and Twitter.
2. Once you are logged into Facebook, go to the address bar in your web browser (the place where you see http://www...) and type in (no quotes) "facebook.com/twitter".
3. Hit Enter (you should see something like this:)

4. Click on the LINK TO TWITTER button of the Facebook account you wish to link to Twitter. ***NOTE*** for me, once I hit that button, nothing happens. The browser just sits there and "thinks".. Here is how to get past this part: If you notice up in the ADDRESS BAR of your web browser, there is a longer URL (or address). Copy that entire address. Open another TAB (Tabs are pages within your browser) or open another browser instance and PASTE that URL in the Address bar of the new Web browser and hit ENTER.
5. At this point, you should get a login for your Twitter account. Make sure you use the correct Twitter account information here.
6. Enter the Twitter information and hit the button to enter the information.
7. Here you should be given a list of things that will populate Twitter posts. I personally just select them all and hit Save. If there is something you would like to leave off of the list, just de-select it and hit Save.
Now when you post something on your wall, a Twitter message will be generated. Email me if you have any questions.
Remember: The goal here is to spend as little time as possible marketing your business. Linking these accounts will help you save time and money. Soon I will post a tip on how to bring your website or blog directly into Facebook so that you JUST update 1 spot and everything else gets updated.
What is even better is that all of these locations will have a link back to your website, which is very important.
